The Arctic Triple – Lofoten Skimo

Lofoten Skimo is organized every year in week 11 and is a ski climbing race with a track that crosses Lofoten from north to south and has a great combination of spectacular peaks and ridges with a magical sea view all the way to the finish line in Svolvær.

The Arctic Triple – Lofoten Ultra Trail

The Lofoten Ultra Trail is organized every year in week 22, with running routes from 12 km and up to 166 km. The trails pass through fantastic landscapes of mountain ridges, white beaches, green hills and gray cliffs – almost all the time with the sea in sight or just meters from your feet.

The Arctic Triple – Lofoten Triathlon

The Lofoten Triathlon is organized every year in week 33 and is often called “the world’s most beautiful triathlon”. A triathlon consists of stages of running, swimming and cycling.

Lofoten High5

Lofoten High5 is a spectacular summit race starting from five mountain peaks, all of which can be seen from Svolvær square. Lofoten High5 is a popular competition for both active and exercise enthusiasts. The race has a start and finish at Svolvær square. The peaks that are climbed are Fløya (590 m), Blåtind (621 m), Tuva (477 m), Lille Kongstind (378 m) and Tjeldbergtind (367 m).

HOKA Lofoten Skyrace

The Lofoten Skyrace has five distances that run over two days. A race in spectacular scenery including two mountain crossings on the longest course.

WC in scree fishing

The WC in skrei fishing and the Lofot Cup are usually held in Svolvær at the end of March each year. The traditional event, which is one of the world’s largest fishing competitions, attracts thousands of people, and creates a bustling life in the city with the fishing in focus. The event is a combination sport fishing competition, festivities, concerts and lots of good food and drink.
