This Privacy Policy applies to Henningsvær Rorbuer AS, which is responsible for processing the company’s handling of personal data on its own website and booking system. See the contact page for contact information.

The privacy policy applies to our website. The privacy policy describes how we collect, use and share personal data when you enter into an agreement to use our website, and how we register information through cookies about your use of our website, and exchange information with third parties.

The privacy policy does not apply to third-party websites, and Henningsvær Rorbuer AS does not take responsibility for the processing of personal data on these websites.

Personal information is information and assessments that can be linked to an individual. Our processing of personal data takes place within the framework of the general rules in the Norwegian Personal Data Act with regulations, as well as other relevant regulations, such as the Marketing Act and the Bookkeeping Act.

What personal data do we collect?

We collect as little personal data as we have to. The information that can be obtained by the online solution is the following:

We consider that we are allowed to process personal data in accordance with GDPR Article 6.1(b) and Article 6.1(f).

6.1(b) Necessity to process data to perform a contract

When you, as a guest, make a reservation with us, it must be considered that a contract is entered into between you and us. We consider that the contract ends automatically when you as a guest have checked out of our property.

We must therefore be able to use the personal data for the following:

  • Communication with you.
  • History of which rorbu you have lived in.
  • For cleaning your room.
  • To be able to comply with fire regulations and for your own safety.
  • Troubleshooting.

6.1 (f) Legitimate Interests

We and you have a number of interests that must be safeguarded, it is considered that we must process data in order to perform the following tasks.

  • Keep the history to be able to solve criminal acts.
  • To comply with the Accounting Act.
  • To be able to offer you as a guest the best possible user experience and service.

We will not use your personal data for anything other than the purpose of your stay. Personal data that is considered high risk will be encrypted as soon as this is possible and does not conflict with other laws.

Who do we share your personal data with?

We never share your personal data with anyone other than what is necessary to achieve the purpose of your stay. We share different parts of your personal data with sensitive suppliers.

  • SMS Provider for message communication.
  • Email Servers/website hosting providers.
  • Accounting system (accounting office, Advice AS).
  • Nets, Visbook and Bookvisit (booking solution).
  • Aurora Borealis Multimedia AS (online solution).

How do we collect the personal data?

We collect personal data through telephone calls, e-mail, our website, OTA (Online Travel Agency) or GDS (Global Distribution System).

Information cookies

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer when you download a website.

Storage of information and processing of this information is not permitted unless the user has both been informed about and has given his consent to the processing. The user must be informed about and approve which information is processed, what the purpose of the processing is and who processes the information, cf. Electronic Communications Act § 2-7b.

The analysis tool Google Analytics places two cookies on your machine. These begin with:

  • _gat
  • AMP_TOKEN
  • _gac_”property-id”

This is done so that we can collect statistics, and is deleted after 90 days.

Right to access and to be deleted.

We have no problem giving you access to your personal data, contact us and we can deliver this within 30 days. Also let us know if you want to be deleted from our database, and we will delete everything that we can delete as long as no other law prevents us from doing this.
