Henningsvær Rorbuer

Henningsvær is perhaps Lofoten’s, and Norway’s, most famous fishing village. For several generations, Lofoten has been the center of the world’s largest cod fishery. In Henningsvær, the original environment of a real fishing village has been preserved. Henningsvær is a small place, but with bustling life, many charming shops, galleries and high-quality eateries.

Henningsvær Rorbuer has a nice location facing the sea gap, surrounded by a beautiful archipelago and with a good view of the Lofoten Wall. The Rorbu facility is located quietly, at the very end of the road that runs through Henningsvær. This is the place for peace of mind and strong natural experiences. The Henningsvær Rorbuer facility consists of several rorbures and wharves that were originally used for fisherman cabins, a shop, eggerbuer, a saltery, a fish drying plant, a trad steamer and a fish reception. Countless fishermen have both lived and worked here.

Henningsvær Rorbuer has been renting since 1982 and was one of the first rorbuer facilities in Lofoten. Henningsvær Rorbuer consists of 25 cabins and three apartments.
